Managing malware, better ways to fight electronic warfare and creating smarter wireless networks will number among the dozens of fascinating technology topics available to the public May 21-22, 2012 at NJIT when the prestigious 35th Annual IEEE Sarnoff Symposium opens in the Campus Center.
This important event, featuring more than 60 presentations on communications, networking, and security, plus seven tutorials on emerging communication technologies, are scheduled during this two-day learning extravaganza for electrical engineers and technologists from around the world. The program includes ten invited and notable speakers from AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent and other prestigious national and international universities: http://ewh.ieee.org/conf/sarnoff/2012/keynote_speakers.htm. For further information and registration, please visit http://www.sarnoffsymposium.org or contact Assoc. Prof. Roberto Rojas-Cessa (rojas@njit.edu).
"Cyber Security Defense: Challenges and State of the Art" will be the keynote address by Parag Pruthi, PhD, the founder, chairman and CEO of Niksun. The talk starts at 8:50 a.m. on May 21, 2012. Robert G. Holland, PhD, Vice President of Engineering at L-3 Communications, Telemetry East (TE) will present his talk entitled, "Interference Cancellation Systems (ICS) in a Saturated Electromagnetic Spectrum in Tactical Applications" during the evening banquet. Reservations for this dinner event are requested.
Watson Research Center Manager at IBM, Kang-Won Lee, PhD, and researcher Seraphin Calo, PhD will be the keynote speakers at the luncheon event set for May 22 at 1 p.m. The pair will discuss "Technologies for Smarter Wireless Networks."
Two industry panels featuring experts in important new fields are also planned: "Telemedicine" will be the focus of a May 21 panel and "Improving Communication on the Manufacturing Plant Floors" will be the focus of a May 22 panel talk. Anyone with a few free minutes will not want to miss the exhibit of products from companies that include National Instruments, Niksun, Tektronix, AWR, Eastern Instrumentation of Philadelphia and more.
The symposium will also serve as a showcase for undergraduate and graduate students to display their research during a May 22, 2012 poster session where the best three presentations will be awarded.
