I know what it was like to be a teenage girl and all of the pressures out there, so having a 13 year old daughter gives me plenty of reason for concern. I trust my daughter completely, but to be honest I don?t trust older boys or some of her friends that make things like partying and sex the most important things in like and that?s how your cool and popular. I am also very big on privacy and parents invaded mine when I was younger, by reading my diary when I wasn?t home and just doing things that made me feel really bad and angry, so I would never do that to my child. One because I believe everyone deserves privacy and a diary is the perfect outlet for her to express her feelings in private. And I also know a thing or two about being?rebellious?and wanting to do everything I was told not to do and I don?t want to have that type of relationship. Yes I want to be her friend, but I never want her to forget that I am also her mother.

If you have a teenage girl or boy, this book can shed light on many topics that you may not know exist. I?m only 31 and had my daughter when I was 19 so I always think of myself is up to date with the times, but after reading this book, I now know that I?m not as up to date as I had thought. ?It?s very insightful and a good read.
